I’m pleased to announce that pianist Daniel Walden and I have been granted a Special Award by the Yvar Mikhashoff Trust for New Music, as part of their eighth annual Pianist/Composer Commissioning Project. The grant will help fund the composition of a new piano solo for Walden. The new piece will be paired with a complete performance of the Luigi Rossi manuscript, a collection of sixteenth-century Italian harpsichord music that includes the only extant keyboard work by Carlo Gesualdo.
